Gunthar Schmidt

Gunthar Schmidt is a famous gymnastics coach.  He arrived in Angel Grove to do some scouting for his Pan Global team.  Coach Schmidt walked into Angel Grove's Juice Bar and noticed Kimberly practicing on the balance beam.  He stopped to watch with Tommy.  When Kimberly got off the beam, she was pleasantly surprised to see Gunthar Schmidt there.  He was very impressed with Kimberly's routine and asked to speak with her coach.  Kimberly told him she didn't have one.  Gunthar couldn't believe it.  He offered to help Kimberly train during his spare team.  Gunthar put a rigorous training program together for Kimberly and worked by her side whenever time permitted.  The training was going well, until Kimberly's communicator went off.  Coach Schmidt was not pleased when Kimberly wanted to leave during a practice session.  Kimberly could not offered him any explanation other than it was really important that she leave.  Coach Schmidt was not happy. During this time, Bulk & Skull suspected Gunthar of being a spy that they had heard about over the news.  Bulk & Skull pretended to be training for gymnastics as a why to ask Gunthar a few questions.  The questioning did not go well for Bulk & Skull.  Later, Gunthar would find out that Kimberly had fallen and was injured.  He blamed himself for Kimberly being in the hospital.  Kimberly was eventually released from the hospital and won the Pan Global trials.  Gunthar attended the surprise party for Kimberly.  He had a surprise of his own.  Gunthar told Kimberly that she was the best athlete he had ever trained and he would like her to go with him to his facility in Florida to train full time for the Pan Global games.  Kimberly accepted his offer.
